There’s some strange shake-ups going on in Argentina right now and it looks like Google and app developers in the Play Store will be suffering the brunt of it. The Argentine government are putting more restrictions on currency exchanges in the country which is preventing Google from paying developers with paid apps in Argentina. The final payment to developers will be on July 22nd and apps will be pulled from the store come July 27th. Google have actively encouraged developers to host their apps in a different country, in which they can legally still be paid for their work. One thing’s for sure though, Argentina is quickly becoming a hostile place for developers.

LG Optimus G2 Leaks Out Again on Camera | Android News

LG-G2

We all know the Optimus G2 is coming, or at least, it’d make a lot of sense for LG to deliver a direct follow-up to last year’s Optimus G. We’ve already heard quite a bit about the upcoming device, that it’s supposedly launching in Q3, and that it could be powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 800 CPU. As well as this, there are reports that the device’s model number is the LG-D801 and that it just might possibly become the Nexus 5.
As you can see in the image above, TechTastic have apparently gotten their hands on a photo of what the Optimus G2 is going to look like. If anything, this looks more like a Nexus device to us but, considering LG made the Nexus 4, keeping a similar shape wouldn’t be completely unheard of. According to rumors, the Optimus G2 is going to be a 5-inch 1080p smartphone and again, LG’s flagship for the next year. Overall, the look and feel is close to that of already leaked images from @evleaks as everything matches up right from the front-facing camera to the speaker positioning. It’s unsurprising as well, that LG are keeping the Optimus G2 near the same size as last year’s flagship, it also handily matches up to the Galaxy S 4 and HTC’s One.

Continuing the Windows 8 vision with Windows 8.1

Before we launched Windows 7, we envisioned what the next version of Windows would need to deliver. We made a bet that the PC landscape and industry would undergo a significant transformation driven by an increase in mobility. That bet underscores the changes we made with Windows 8 – it’s a generational leap forward. We built Windows 8 for a world where touch is a first class interaction model, the same as mouse and keyboard; and where there’s a proliferation of innovative and diverse devices that are highly mobile, always on the go and always connected. Windows 8 was built on the reality that the lines between our work and personal lives have blurred.
We’re only a bit more than seven months into this new, bold approach to computing. The response to Windows 8 has been substantial— from new devices to strong app growth to key enhancements to the OS and apps. We’ve learned from customers on how they are using the product and have received a lot of feedback. We’ve delivered hundreds of updates to the product and to apps. We’re just getting started, and the potential ahead is tremendous.
Windows 8.1 will advance the bold vision set forward with Windows 8 to deliver the next generation of PCs, tablets, and a range of industry devices, and the experiences customers — both consumers and businesses alike — need and will just expect moving forward. It’s Windows 8 even better. Not only will Windows 8.1 respond to customer feedback, but it will add new features and functionality that advance the touch experience and mobile computing’s potential. Windows 8.1 will deliver improvements and enhancements in key areas like personalization, search, the built-in apps, Windows Store experience, and cloud connectivity. Windows 8.1 will also include big bets for business in areas such as management and security – we’ll have more to say on these next week at TechEd North America. Today, I am happy to share a “first look” at Windows 8.1 and outline some of the improvements, enhancements and changes customers will see.

Personalization:

In Windows 8.1, you’ll be able to do more to personalize the experience on your device. As people started using Windows 8, we found that people were using their Lock screens to show pictures of their families. So in Windows 8.1, you can turn your PC or tablet into a picture frame by making your Lock screen a slide show of your pictures – either locally on the device or photos from the cloud in SkyDrive. We also added the ability to take pictures with the built-in camera right from the Lock screen without having to log in.
Start screen High res
Windows 8.1 offers more colors and backgrounds for the Start screen – including ones with motion.
Start with wallpaper High res
You can even choose your desktop background as your Start screen background, creating a greater sense of unity and familiarity. And the Start screen in Windows 8.1 features a variety of tile sizes including a new large and new small tile, so you can organize your Start screen exactly the way you want it. It’s also even easier to name groups and rearrange tiles. You can now select multiple apps all at once, resize them, uninstall them, or rearrange them. We also found people were accidentally moving tiles on their Start screen so in Windows 8.1, you press and hold (or right click) to move things around.
You can view all apps just by swiping from the bottom to view all apps, and we’ve added the ability to filter your apps by name, date installed, most used, or by category. You want the Start screen to be about all the things you love. So when you install a new app from the Windows Store, we no longer put that app on your Start screen. Instead, you’ll find these apps under apps view as mentioned above and marked as “new” where you can choose to pin the apps you want to your Start screen.

z4root - Root con un solo click - AndroidZone

z4root-4

Mejores Widgets Android - AndroidZone

Mejores widgets android

Why The Samsung Galaxy S3 Is Still A Great Phone!

Android 4.3 Camera UI Tour

Nexus 4 running build number JWR45B was spotted at the Thailand Mobile Expo recently labeled as Android version 4.3, suggesting the update to the OS could be right around the corner. While the validity of the sighting remains unconfirmed, we do get three shots of what could be the next version of Android: the Jelly Bean easter egg (confirming the update won’t be Key Lime Pie), the About Phone screen, and a slightly tweaked camera UI.

New Nexus 7 reportedly shipping now, launching next month - Android Community

Nexus-7-Ships-540x540

According to DigiTimes, who’s been accurate in the past, ASUS and Google have contracted AUO to manufacture the next-gen 1920×1200 low-temperature poly-silicon (LTPS) display for their new 7-inch Nexus tablet. We’ve heard different specs through the rumor mill, and they all keep coming back to an impressive 1080p display. The important thing here isn’t the display, but the details on dates and numbers ordered.
Supply chain sources reportedly confirmed that AU Optronics has been hard at work building nearly 1 million displays for the new Nexus, and have already shipped all million out this month. Yes this month, but only to warehouses for final preparation. With 1 million shipped in May we can expect the announcement to come in June (which stacks up with previous rumors) and most likely it will be running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

Hisense’s Budget Android Tablets Now Available At Walmart Stores for $99, $149 | Android News - AndroidHeadlines.com

hisense7

For awhile now manufacturers have been trying incredibly hard to undercut each other on prices. The Kindle Fire was the first truly successful budget Android tablet, but it had more than its fair share of problems. Last year, Google teamed up with ASUS to enter the budget Android tablet market with the Nexus 7, and as we all know, it was widely successful and a successor is supposedly coming this July. But, just because a couple of manufacturers have a hold on the market doesn’t mean everyone else will roll over and die. Yesterday, popular Chinese manufacturer Hisense announced two new budget Android tablets, the Sero 7 LT and the Sero 7 Pro. The company said that they would be Walmart exclusive tablets, but did not announce a release date.
Hisense has announced that its two budget Android tablets, the Sero 7 LT and the Sero 7 Pro, are now available from Walmart stores around the country. The less powerful Sero 7 LT will run you just $99, while the slightly quicker Sero 7 Pro will cost $50 more at $149.
As far as specifications go, the Sero 7 LT isn’t offering anything to write home about, but what did you expect? The device is rocking a 1.6GHz dual-core CPU, 1GB of RAM, 4 gigs of internal storage, a microSD card slot with support for 32GB cards, a 7-inch, 1,024 x 600-pixel display , 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera, Android 4.1,  and a four-hour battery. As far as ports go, the device is offering mini HDMI, SD, and micro USB ports, as well as WiFi, of course.
The Sero 7 Pro is a quite a bit better. It is packing a 1.3GHz quad-core Tegra 3 processor, 1GB RAM, 8 gigs of storage, a 1,280 x 800 display, a 2MP front facing shooter, a 5MP rear camera, up to 10 hours of battery life and Android 4.2. It has mini HDMI, SD, and USB ports, as well as NFC.
Both of these tablets should be available from your local Walmart store now.
Do you think Google should be worried that the Hisense tablets will eat away at the Nexus 7′s market? Let us know down in the comments!

forum.thinkpads.com • When ThinkPads take a shower...

    Image

We all know ThinkPads have spill-proof Keyboards. But from what I've heard most ThinkPads still don't even survive a cup of water. I decided to go try myself. But instead of doing a boring "slowly pour a glass of water on your keyboard" test I took my X220i out in the rain. Seems more realistic to me since I don't drink while typing. Anyway, when I took the first picture it was only raining rather lightly so I could leave it outside for a few minutes without getting soaking wet myself. The camera survived it as well. The X220i was unimpressed, though fairly wet and dirty on the outside afterwards.

A few days passed and I started thinking: "Maybe I didn't leave it outside long enough" As if fate wanted it, it was pouring buckets on that day. Basically, a lovely day to take your ThinkPad outside. So that's what I did. Again. Sure enough I got soaking wet, as did my X220i in a matter of seconds. I needed to get my camera though so the X220i was left to enjoy the rain for a few minutes. When I came back I took a picture as quickly as I could which wasn't easy considering that rain was splashing into my eyes and onto the camera lens. That's why the second picture looks a bit shaky.

The X220i took quite a serious hit this time round. When carrying it through the room water was dripping out of the drainage system (those two holes on the bottom) and the system was very heavy because of all the water it had collected. I also noticed some sand or dirt had gotten stuck in the hinges and under the key caps.
